Introducing the Together We’re Better People’s Panel

Step Beyond is proud to be working with Together We’re Better to create a People’s Panel that will be at the heart of achieving the partnership’s vision of making Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent the healthiest places to live and work.

We are inviting you to join this panel to help inform health and care services in your local area.

What is Together We’re Better?

A partnership of NHS and local government organisations, alongside independent and voluntary sector groups, that is working together to transform local health and care services in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. The goal is to ensure that local people have access to high quality and sustainable health and care services for the future.

The Together We’re Better partnership wants to:

  • help people live well for longer
  • treat people and not a set of conditions
  • support and enable people to stay well and independent
  • deliver care closer to a person’s home
  • give mental health equal priority to physical health
  • ensure a person’s experience of health and care is the best it can be

Why we need you

Everyone has experience of using health and care services and Together We’re Better wants to hear your opinions and feedback in relation to these. We are inviting members of the public to play an active role in helping to improve these services, for the benefit of everyone. Wherever you live in Staffordshire or Stoke-on-Trent and whatever your background, your experiences are important to us and can help to make a difference to health and care services in your local area.

How you can play a role

If you decide to join our People’s Panel, there are two main ways in which you will be involved. Firstly, we will email you regular online surveys that are short and interesting to complete. These surveys are online versions of those we also share with face-to-face groups, such as TWB Local Representatives, and will give TWB health and care partners vital information to help change services for the better.

Secondly, you may also be invited to take part in focus groups (this is voluntary). These are face to face meetings with other members of the panel where we invite you to discuss and share your opinions on various health and care matters.

How your views will be used

This isn’t a tick-box exercise – it’s borne out of a genuine desire to put local people at the heart of everything Together We’re Better does. Your views really do matter.
